What you’ll do

Ah, Seoul, a glimmering city lucky enough to have mountain hikes and forest trails right on its doorstep - the best of both worlds! It's believed that these granite mountains serve as the four guardians of the city, contributing to its feng shui and prosperity.

You'll join one of our Seoul hosts as you decide on which of the many walks you'd like to take. They range from mild and scenic, like a stroll along Anyangcheon Stream, to challenging and rewarding - climb a peak and get a glimpse of those views!

There is a trail to suit everybody's ability. Alternatively, if you're fascinated by Seoul's Buddhist temples, exploring the forests of the Bukhansan National Park is a must! For something a little more central, the Namsan Mountain lies in the city's center and perched on top; you'll find N-Seoul Tower - another platform upon which to gaze down at Seoul in all its glory.

After your day of physical exertion, you might need a bite to eat. Snack on a bowl of bibimbap, steaming chueotang (a spicy fish soup served with rice), or japchae (sweet and savory stir-fried glass noodles). It will be a day well spent.

Experience outline

  • Discover the natural beauty of Seoul’s surrounding granite mountains and lush forests
  • Join your host and enjoy a day of hiking along one of the city’s many trails
  • Your host will plan a route which suits your ability, how long you’d like to hike for and what you’d most like to see along the way
  • Climb one of the city’s most famous mountains or get off the beaten path and discover Buddhist temples in the forest of Bukhansan National Park
  • Alternatively, enjoy hiking along one of the eight trails which are part of the Seoul Trail, a 157km trail around the whole city
  • After your hike, feast on some delicious local dishes at a nearby sikdang (restaurant)
