Liverpool is a fun and friendly city, and it’s safe and aggro-free at night too. One of my favourite things to do in Liverpool at night is to head to the pierhead and see the buildings and city skyline illuminate the water, and I also enjoy heading to a late night restaurant; it’s always a laid-back way to chill with a glass of wine. Liverpool evening entertainment covers everything from live music, cosy pubs, eclectic bars and world-class restaurants. So the Liverpool nightlife scene is not to be missed when adventuring the old, cobbled streets of the city. Despite Liverpool’s historic past, the city feels young and alive. Things to do in Liverpool at night are endless and depending on your taste, there will always be something for you. From the famous Cavern Club and the Ghetto Golf, to unconventional cafes, breweries and classy wine bars, you’ll be sure to have a good time in the city. Liverpool nightlife for is about friendly people, good vibes and good sounds. Here are my top tips and Liverpool nightlife guide; complete with the best Liverpool nightlife areas, best bars in Liverpool and where to eat in Liverpool.
Albert Dock
Albert Dock is a great place to grab a drink and is a Liverpool nightlife area that has really started to come into its own. It’s not the hub of Liverpool nightlife, but it has a lot to offer in a scenic location. If you’re seeking somewhere a bit quieter to have a few drinks away from the hustle and bustle but still with a good atmosphere; head to Albert Dock. Not only is it a stunningly beautiful historic landmark, but it’s one that’s filled with cool bars, amazing drinks offers and it always a great crowd. Enjoy colourful cocktails by the glistening waterside or don your dancing shoes and party the night away to some of the city’s top DJs at a number of late-night venues. The fancy restaurant and bar PANAM is always popular, as are Latin-inspired, cocktail-fuelled fiestas at Revolución de Cuba. Head to the twinkling lights of the Dock for a night to remember.
Bold Street
Bold Street is the perfect stop for a drink and a unique food experience in Liverpool. Take your pick from delicious restaurants, quirky cafes and classy bars. Wondering what to do in Liverpool at night? Head to Bold Street. Try Ropes and Twines; a café and wine bar which looks fairly mediocre on the outside but, once inside, holds a really amazing selection of wines and a great atmosphere. Grab a decaf coffee or late night loose leaf tea at Leaf; a really nice café with two floors. They host events regularly and are open day and night. If you’re a food enthusiast, add Bold Street to your evening entertainment Liverpool list. No visit to the iconic street would be complete without heading all the way up to the Church of St Luke, known as the Bombed Out Church by locals. A much-loved landmark, this unique venue comes alive with events like film screenings.
Baltic Triangle
One of the quirkier things to do in Liverpool at night, the Baltic Market is an amazing Independent Liverpool mix of booze, live entertainment and street food, supplied by local vendors and breweries. Head inside and sit on rustic benches and barrels or outside on a terrace and soak up some sun if you’re here during the daylight hours, then catch some live music at the cool warehouse venue. Check out the charming 20’s themed Peaky Blinders Bar and Food Court and drink among folk in flat caps and flappers dressed in fringe. For something different, grab your clubs, cans or cocktails at hidden gem Ghetto Golf; an 18 hole golf course and a fun way to spend your night. Have a drink in an old campervan and stop off at holes along the way that involve putting in Granny’s living room. There are bars around the course and also they have street food vans and a bar outside.
Cavern Club
The Cavern Club is a must see Liverpool nightlife attraction with a great vibe and amazing music. Searching for the best things to do in Liverpool at night? Head to The Cavern Club for an authentic Liverpudlian music experience. The iconic cellar has seen seven incredible decades of music; from The Beatles first performance on 9th February 1961 to the Arctic Monkeys pre-breakthrough gig in October 2005. The Cavern Club remains at the heart of Liverpool’s legendary music scene and is not to be missed for anyone searching the heart and soul of the city. Check out the live music from mid-afternoon until late evening, seven days a week. Undoubtedly one of the best bars in Liverpool, The Cavern Club is not to be missed if you only have the last half of the day in the city.
