The first place you definitely need to visit is London. Of course, London is the capital city of the United Kingdom. It is amongst the oldest of the world's great cities, with a history spanning nearly two millennia. London is home to Europe’s tallest Ferris Wheel, also known as the London Eye.
London contains so many different cultures and experiences under one rooftop. Roaming through the streets of Chinatown, walking through Hyde Park, and past the King's Palace. You will see the amazing sights that London has to offer! There are restaurants and bars, places to enjoy, get drinks and eat good food!
You will come to make friends with ‘Londoners’ and find the hidden places of the locals. London is known for lots of different things. You have seen it in the films: the big red buses, Big Ben, and the typical black taxi cabs. If you didn’t already know, London is built on ruins. Over three million Londoners travel on the Underground transit daily, and three women even gave birth on the Tube! The travel network in London is amazing, from Boats to trains, tubes, and cabs!
There are so many things to do in London from places to eat, drink, theatres, historic landmarks. Some places to visit are: Columbia Road Flower Market, Kew Gardens, Primrose Hill, Regents Park. For more history or museums, Shakespeare’s Globe and the Tate Modern are perfect places to visit. Little Venice and China Town are two places to visit in London. There are things to do in London for all ages, from the London Aquarium to Puttshack Golf.
Next up is Brighton. Brighton is a seaside resort located 47 miles south of London. It is known for its stunning seaside and iconic Place Pier—with arcades, places to eat, and a soaring observation tower. Brighton has an amazing community, including an LGBTQ+ population, a bohemian atmosphere, and an eco-friendly spirit. The two have a population of about 480,000 and are located on the south coast.
The top sights in Brighton that I recommend are the Royal Pavillion, which shows the history of Brighton, the Brighton i360, which shows the whole of Brighton from above, and the Palace Pier, which is full of rides and amusement arcades. You will enjoy the sun and the sea just an hour and a half from London! There is plenty to do and see here.. You will begin by heading down to the beach and exploring the arcades and rides on Brighton Pier. You will have so much fun here, remember to bring some coins so you can try and win some prizes!
You can enjoy a walk along the pier and along the beach and sit and relax on the beach. Remember something to sit on like a blanket! Once you have spent your coins and built up and appetite you will indulge in a sea side snack, from fish and chips to donuts and ice cream, take your pick, there is something for everyone. Once you are energised again you will head to the local shopping centre, where there is plenty to visit, from the lego store, Zara, Apple, Primark and Next, for fashion lovers and toys for the kids and it also has a food court.
They also have pebbled streets with some amazing vintage and small local businesses. There is also an i360 where you can view the whole of Brighton, exploring from the heights. Take in panoramic views of Brighton and the South Coast, up to 138 meters, in a futuristic glass viewing pod. Finish the day by heading for some food and drinks.
Manchester is another amazing city. It is the UK’s second largest city after London, with a population of about 2,550,000. The Manchester Ship Canal, which stretches almost 60km to Liverpool, opened in 1891. In 1830, the world's first railway station was built in Manchester. As you can tell from the facts, Manchester has lots of history. Along with its history, it is similar to London, with many different cultures and experiences under one roof.
There are lots of amazing sights that Manchester has to offer. There are restaurants and bars, places to enjoy, get drinks, and eat good food! You will find the hidden places of the locals, which show the amazing culture and places to eat and drink. Activity-wise, why not get a tour of the football stadiums, either Manchester City or Manchester United? Take your pick of the team you prefer, or if you can't decide, visit both!
The UK has many different cities, towns, and hidden gems that you need to visit! As a local, I would definitely have lots of other suggestions, and my experiences include some excellent ideas for some UK destinations that I recommend and that are covered in this article!
