Progressive community spirit, a bustling creative scene, top notch coffee and trendy thrift stores.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Get ready to pop some tags in the hipster havens of Newtown and Enmore. With a local Sydney host by your side, you'll seamlessly blend into the crowd of artists that call this unique Aussie quarter home.
From homemade bikes to organic coffee roasteries, an excursion to Newton is filled with flair, counterculture, thrift stores, and arthouse cinema venues. Quaint galleries? Check. Vinyl stores? Check. Cafe culture? Alive and kicking, thanks. The trick with trendy neighborhoods is never to show that you're aware it's trendy.
Mastering the right level of indifference is important, and your host will be sure to show you how to 'play it casually,' but don't worry, we're also squealing with excitement on the inside. From picnics in the park to guerilla-style movie screenings, everyone needs to hit up these exciting green spaces, known for their progressive spirit and all-embracing outlook.
At night, it's just as exciting with galleries-come-bars tumbling onto the pavements and all bohemian fashionistas offering style inspiration to us all. Armed with a glass of wine, show off your new tan and take Newtown and Enmore by storm.

Our guide, Olivia was very knowledgeable when showing us around. We started off by visiting the Rocks where you can also admire the Opera house to then head to Newton. We loved the place, very Bohemian/low key. Not crazy hipster as Shoreditch (in London) yet with the right amount of good eateries, independent shops and cafe. Although we are not vegan ourselves, we try to limit the amount of meat we eat. We loved our vegan Vietnamese lunch (Golden Lotus), and found a vegan butcher with an amazing selection of cheeses.
Show moreMy sister and I loved it - the local host took as to a hidden place which we could never have found on our own. Here we bought some bespoke jewellery and browsed some really cool bookshops - it is so cool that the locals do these book swaps! I wish we had more time in Melbourne!! We drank a glass of cabsav
Show moreMy son moved to Enmore, so I had a good look for a few days and enjoyed the hip and buzzing area. Lots of small local coffee shops, small international eateries from Mexican, Japanese, Vietnamese, Australian etc. Lovely new and vintage look shops. Walk slowly as lots to take in. Street art in abundance and for the travellers on the go. Laundromats, sewing repair, iPhone iPad repair .. it´s all there. Just go to Enmore and Newtown. Newtown has a metro going right into the hub of the CBD, museums, town hall and ferries.
Show moreThe guide, Ross, went above and beyond our expectations giving us a thorough and delightful tour. His knowledge of Sydney’s history and infrastructure because he is an engineer who worked for the city elevated our understanding of it. Highly recommend!
