Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
With your host to guide you through Nagoya’s most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, you’ll learn what it means to celebrate sakura season like a local. You could buy takeaway tenmusu – chewy rice balls with a dollop of tasty shrimp tempura in the center – and a cold drink at one of downtown Sakae’s popular eateries and join locals for a traditional hanami (cherry blossom viewing) picnic under Nagoya Castle’s blossoming trees.
Or maybe you’ll sample wagashi confections at the traditional teahouse in Tokugawa Garden before slowly strolling down pretty paths lined with trees. A little early for the season? The Higashi Ward is home to a famous street that blooms a cherry blossom tree tunnel at the beginning of March!

We are well travelled and have always used organised tours or cruise ship shore excursions. Our first private tour experience with Takako in Nagoya was wonderful and we will now always use City Unscripted where ever possible. We were travelling with a 9 year old and Takako was accommodating, kind and patient. We enjoyed our time spent with her, especially our experience of having a picnic in a park full of Cherry Blossom trees and eating Japanese food that we selected together. She ensured that we had lovely photos of our Nagoya memories.
Show moreI had a great tour with Miki in Nagoya. She gave me so much information about the city. She helped me navigate the transit system. I had a lovely day exploring the city. The cherry blossoms were late in blooming but the ones I saw were still beautiful.

Show moreSaki-san was our tour guide for our half day tour in Nagoya. She spoke fluent English, was a very friendly guide and we enjoyed her company! Saki was very flexible and reached out earlier prior to the actual tour to better understand our interest and places where we wanted to visit. In particular, her sharing on the history of the palace and Nagoya castle was very interesting. Lastly, Saki also introduced us to the Nagano old street and recommended a local sake bar / diner for our dinner. Thank you Saki! We highly recommend her if you are planning to tour Nagoya :)
Show moreThe best part about the tour was going to the Nagoya Castle. Anna was great, thank you!
Show moreTakako was very eager to guide us as she was already texting me a few days earlier. She was responsive to my queries and changes in places to go to. Upon meeting, Takako was very pleasant to talk to and she was always smiling while explaining the tourist places we visited. We had a great time with her.
