Experience the vibrant culture of Singapore with exotic spices, traditional shophouses, cozy cafes, and impressive temples, mosques, and pagodas.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Do you want to experience Singapore like a local? This is the perfect experience for you. We want you to discover the magic of this city and understand why Singapore is one of our favorite destinations. From the charming Arab Street to the bustling markets in Chinatown, this experience is designed to give you that local experience of Singapore that is bound to stick with you forever! Especially with the help of our talented local hosts.
You’ll begin your trip at the Sultan Mosque, where your knowledgeable local host will guide you down the charming lanes of Arab Street, featuring many little shops selling trinkets, souvenirs, fabric, and more! One shop that stood out to us was ‘Sifr Aromatics,’ a unique and cute little shop specializing in handmade perfumes and candles. Check it out.
As you wander through the narrow alleys, look out for the colorful murals and boutique shops; honestly, you can get caught up in it for hours. We absolutely love how colorful and playful this neighborhood is; it’s almost like we were children again! Appreciate and learn about the street art as you make your way down to Little India.
Wander along Serangoon Road, taking in all the sights, smells, and sounds of Little India nearby. As you and your local host navigate through bustling markets and elaborate temples, the air will be filled with the intoxicating scent of spices, inviting you to stop for a quick taste of the rich flavors of Indian cuisine. We couldn’t believe the mix of modern and classic as amongst all the bustle of commerce, there are numerous impressive temples, such as Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, which we really recommend you check out. Want to stay a little longer? Stop right there, as the Tekka Centre is right around the corner, and this is high on the Singapore must-do list.
We’re sure you must be starving by now after all that walking! You have to sample Singapore’s legendary street food, and you'll do just that at one of the city's most iconic hawker centers, Tekka Centre. Here, you’ll find plenty of food stalls serving up some delicious Indian cuisine, shops selling a wide variety of goods, and so much more! That’s for you to discover with your wonderful host. Eat, drink, and take photos! Oh, by the way, one of our favorite Singaporean street food dishes is Char Kway Teow. Your host will make you feel like this is home and as though you were a local here.
After satisfying your appetite, make your way to Little India MRT station and hop on a train to Chinatown. This is a wonderful, picturesque, and locally immersive ride. As you’re whisked through the cityscape, you’ll probably feel those butterflies in your tummy for the excitement of all the cultural treasures awaiting you in this historic district. Let your host tell you about all the great things that you are passing by. It might even inspire another trip.
When arriving in Chinatown, you'll be greeted by the lively energy of Pagoda Street, lined with bustling markets and enticing street food stalls. From there, your host will guide you to the majestic Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, where you can capture that perfect insta-worthy shot. We know there is so much to do here, and your host will be sure to see to that, but take a moment to share your pictures with us, won’t you? We love to see people enjoying our experiences.
We truly hope that the experience we have curated ensures that you experience Singapore just as we did. With a local host by your side, you can’t help but already feel welcomed!

We discussed the options and she guided us through the metro. She told us the history and the details of the stops. We tried a local sugar cane drink as well as a local cake..we had a dood walking pace to see as much as we could within out time frame.
