What you’ll do

We wish our history lessons could have been as immersive and exciting as exploring a city with one of our friendly hosts. There we were, drudging it out in a classroom. Let Berlin be your ‘classroom’ and venture through its complex history with an authentic experience designed to cover all the famous attractions, as well as bring something more personal and modern to the plate. As a city that wears its past on its sleeve, particularly with regards to WW2, there is much more to Berlin’s unflinching urban facade should you decide to venture beyond the tourism circuit.

Take in significant landmarks like Tränenpalast and Checkpoint Charlie, before delving right into the multi-faceted modern city scene, checking out Potsdamer Platz and the East Side Gallery - talk about a time warp. Your host will strive to curate a truly blended experience for you, and the best part is, it’s entirely at your pace. Grab some food along the way, chat, chat some more, and enjoy!

We asked Andreas for a tour for our family that would bring the history of Berlin to life while taking us off the beaten track and giving us some street art to view. By agreement, he didn't tell us where we were going and took us on a magical mystery tour which included visiting the fascinating Teufelsberg Hill. With three kids in our group, Andreas hit the nail on the head by taking us somewhere different and away from the crowds. He was a very knowledgeable and personable guide, we all enjoyed talking and learning from him - and would absolutely recommend him and City Unscripted.

We took the tour : Berlin: Times of Love and War Alessandra Tomaselli was our guide. My wife and I did not know what to expect but had high expectations to learn about Berlin and the Cold War. We met Alessandra at a very convenient location; very prompt (kind of a big thing for me). Alessandra guided us to key Cold War historical spots and told a concise story in a timeline manner; unbelievably education for us. Alessandra also took us to several Berlin foodie locations to give us a perspective of life in Berlin today. Very delicious!!! We had a great four hours; It was having you friend guide you through their city! Awesome!! George and Kate

He was interesting, articulate, knowledgeable, and did not talk down to us. He was attentive to our needs, went out of his way to make sure we were happy, and even pulled a few surprises on us.

We want to thank Darren for the wonderful tour he took us on. We enjoyed the sights and the information he gave us as we proceeded. I want to thank him for being so sensitive to my mobility situation. I would not have been able to make the tour if he did not allow time for resting and all the rides on buses and trains. We enjoyed Berlin and hope to return to Germany again.
