In Naples, a city known for its ancient history, spectacular cuisine and, of course, the iconic Mount Vesuvius, your local host will lead you off the well-trodden tourist trail to the city’s secret network of staircases leading to parts of Naples your guidebook doesn’t even know about. From the hilltop district of Vomero, walk to the top of Petraio stairs – a tranquil staircase leading from Vomero to Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Pass between 19th-century houses overgrown with wild plants, stopping off at a terrace for a stunning view, and see a few of the city’s famous votive altars as you make your way down the stairs and head towards the Santa Maria in Portico, a late-baroque church just off the seaside promenade leading to Egg Castle – the oldest castle in Naples.

Absolutely recommended. The half-day private tour of Naples with Nunzia was more like discovering the city with a friend than a sightseeing tour. He took us to many different places telling us many interesting anecdotes and curiosities about Naples and its history. We also had the opportunity to taste some Neapolitan street food specialties. Finally Nunzia also gave us lots of suggestions and advice on what to do and what to see, thank you very much!

More than a sightseeing tour…it has been like discovering Naples toghether with a friend. Nunzia was fantastic! Nunzia was great. She was in contact with us before we got there to help us plan the trip. We spent time in the ancient center, the upper city, and the coast. Nunzia was really knowledgeable about the history of Naples and local culture. Her English was excellent and she was very personable.
