You could visit the striking symbol of the city, the Atomic Bomb Dome, stroll down the soft sand of the Bayside Beach or explore ancient shrines and temples – from hydrangea-lined Jinguji-temple to Itsukushima. On Miyajima Island, see nature at its most impressive: lush forests, turquoise ocean, and the iconic “floating” torii gate: a shrine that’s partially submerged at high tide.

Sumire had a lot of interesting stories to tell not just about Fukuoka city & the places we went to, but also about herself. It was really nice getting to know her as an individual & we had good conversation over the course of the 3 hours we spent together. This was an excellent experience. I had the great honor of being guided by Bruce who has been living in Fukuoka for more than 20 years and has made a significant impact on the modern Yatai food scene. He was very professional and fun. He explained and showed me the true essence of Fukuoka which helped me further understand its local culture. I am a big history and culture person, so I had an absolutely stellar time. Highly recommend this tour and please ask for Bruce if you are interested in the Yatai!
