Experience the vibrant nightlife of Fukuoka with a local host, exploring the city's best spots and uncovering its after-dark delights.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
With your host as your GPS, translator, and restaurant reviewer, you’ll be experiencing the very best of Fukuoka’s intoxicating nightlife. In the colorful glow of the neon-lit Naka river, sample Fukuoka’s famous street food from the long line of yatai mobile carts, or head to Tenjin to explore where the wealthy unwind. Down a quick draft beer at your host’s favorite izakaya, check if Ōhori Park is hosting any cool outdoor events, or simply hop between all the tightly-packed bars, pubs, and clubs in streets that show no sign of tiring. In restaurant-lined Ropponmastsu, grab a vending machine ticket and cash it in for Fukuoka’s go-to late-night snack: rich, creamy, umami tonkotsu ramen. Now you’ll be going strong for a good few hours.

I did two tours with Ai and both were incredibly fun!
Show moreTaiyo was absolutely wonderful and flexible with all our needs. He was knowledgeable and knew the area well. Due to COVID, the regular restaurants on the tour were not open so he needed to find new places to go. It seemed as though he was scrambling last minute to find places so some pre-planning would have been appreciated. He could have checked restaurants ahead of time to find places that were open.
Show moreEli made the tour fun and personal giving multiple suggestions of her favorite places and showing us both the bright lights and hidden gems of Fukuoka. She made an in depth schedule and was able to change it on the fly depending on our interests. My wife and I laughed constantly throughout the tour with Eli which made the experience completely worth it. Felt like hanging with a friend.
Show moreWe made a last-minute request for a food tour in Fukuoka in the evening and it was our good fortune that Bruce was available to take us for a tour the next afternoon. The tour was a great introduction to the food culture of the city. While the yatai tour is an evening experience, he was able to send us to one of his favourite yatai stalls where Mariko-san took care of us, introducing us to local seafood tempura.
Show moreEli was friendly and genuine. She showed us great spots so we got the flavor of Fukuoka. She tailored the itinerary very well to our tastes and abilities. She showed flexibility to make revisions as needed. We ate at a local fish market restaurant, ate delicious pastries, saw shrines and learned their history, learned about local customs and ceremonies and wandered through all sorts of shopping areas. Highly recommend this tour especially if your time is limited in Fukuoka.
Show moreIt was a bit difficult to find the guide as we were supposed to meet at the huge Hakata station. But we managed and the guided tour through the streets of Fukuoka was marked by professional competence and good places outside the usual tourist spots. The guide could tell us a lot about the places we visited and was very pleasant company. A really good tour that can definitely be recommended.
