What you’ll do

Eight hours in a city as lively as Fukuoka doesn’t seem like much, but with a local insider (and the caffeine buzz from your extra-smooth flannel drip coffee), you’ll pack in more than you ever thought possible. From cheering on the float-races at the annual Yamakasa Festival – and praying for eternal youth at the Kushida Shrine well – to marveling at stately Tōchō-ji and its great Buddha statue, see the temples and shrines that put the city on the map. Maybe you’ll take the railway less traveled 30 minutes out to the sleepy seaside of Itoshima, or explore the city’s up-and-coming otaku scene in the backstreets of Tenjin. And when hunger strikes? You’re just a vending machine ticket away from a bowl of Fukuoka’s famous tonkotsu ramen.

The trip was completely customisable and Eli (our guide) was amazing. She put together all the things that we wanted to do while explaining the Japanese culture and art forms. It was an enriching afternoon and we enjoyed visiting temples, shrines, besides trying our hand at doll making. We also found an amazing vegetarian place to have lunch. Thank you Eli for the great experience

We had a wonderful day exploring Fukuoka. Bruce showed us places nearby to our hotel. We could ask questions and learn about history, culture. Bruce showed us good places to eat. After an authentic Japanese lunch we got on the train n visited a park. Walking through the hundreds of cherry blossom trees was like being in a fairytale…just magical. I will never forget my first day in Japan. A truely amazing experience.

Our guide, Ai, helped us even before we got to the tour! She contacted us on WhatsApp, and we were able to ask for recommendations on Onsens, restaurants, and whiskey bars in the area. We were able to customize the tour with her help, and had a great day walking around temples, shrines, and Ohori Park. Ai has amazing taste in food, and took us to an amazing spot for a Teishoku style lunch. She also suggested an amazing sushi restaurant, and made us a reservation for made us a reservation reservation for a omakase dinner! If you like food, Ai is definitely your tour guide.

Ai helped us even before the tour started! She contacted us on WhatsApp, and we were able to ask her for recommendations on Onsens, restaurants, and bars in the area. She was also gracious enough to make us a omakase dinner reservation at a EXCELLENT sushi restaurant. If you love good food, she's the tour guide to have.
