Discover the enchantment of the sakura season through "hanami" festivities with a local host who knows all the insider secrets.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Nestled between sparkling sea and magnificent mountains, Kobe is already considered to be one of Japan’s most beautiful cities, but during sakura season, it becomes something from a fairytale. With a local insider leading you down the prettiest sakura-lined paths, you’ll celebrate this special time of year exactly as the locals do.
You’ll see some of Kobe’s top cherry blossom viewing locations (and squeeze in some sightseeing along the way) as you walk down tree-lined central streets to parks bursting with newly-bloomed cherry blossom trees. In Kobe’s Chinatown, you could shop for tasty street food like steamed buns and gyoza dumplings for your very own celebratory hanami picnic – one of the beautiful traditions that define this blissful time of year.

Ryan was great. So easy to talk to, very informative and made a point of finding out our preferences, so he could personalise the whole day for us. He was a pleasure to be with, not only sharing lots of general I formation about Osaka but personal details about his life in and around Osaka too. A really interesting guide and we would definitely recommend booking this trip. Thank you Ryan
Show moreSo great! We never would have been knowledgeable enough or brave enough to find the deliciousness to which Taiga led us on our food tour. Didn’t even know akashiyaki was a thing. How small can a gyoza shop be? Now we know. Taiga was an awesome, knowledgeable, friendly host to spend a few hours with tasting the delights of Kobe.
Show moreHamu was fabulous! Wonderful English and knows the area really well. She very much loves what she does as she has so much history and cultural knowledge of the area.
Show moreTaiga was awesome, knowledgeable and so friendly. We would not have been brave enough to try akashiyaki or to dive into the teeny gyoza shop without our host. Really fun afternoon overall.
Show moreRio was great even though he said that I was his first tour it certainly didn’t seem like it. Rio had a wealth of knowledge and I felt like a “local “ walking the streets of Kobe with Rio. I even learned a little Japanese along the way. I highly recommend Rio for anyone seeking to learn more about Kobe and to find hidden treasures of the city
Show moreThere was confusion as to who was giving the tour - Taiga with whom I had been communicating via email prior to starting the trip to Japan or Ryan who became our guide as of the day before the tour. I had asked for a meet at the ship pier and wires crossed -we went to meet Ryan per his request and he, unbeknownst to us, went to the the ship. Eventually we got together and had a fabulous tour! Ryan was flexible, and personable and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him.
