A whirlwind of cable car rides, pink elephants, an owl cafe and virtual reality arcades.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
At first glance, Kobe is all about the shrines, historic landmarks, and beautiful scenery, but look a little deeper and you will find a city bursting with adventure - the kind that your whole family will love. You'll join one of our friendly Kobe hosts who will make sure you can get on with the important business of enjoying yourself, while they plan your family’s day in Kobe.
Think neon lights, arcade games, cable cars, and exotic animals. Fun right? All you need to do is let us know what your family’s style is, and we’ll do the rest. You could explore some of the main attractions, riding a cable car up Mount Rokko then venturing beyond the hills to the delightful Arima Onsen hot springs.
Or take a stroll to the hidden Maya-san Tenjo-ji temple, breathing in the fresh air while you do so.
Not your family's vibe? You could always visit the Oji Zoo, where you can marvel at the pink elephants and penguins, or make a beeline for Umie and Harborland, a massive entertainment area where artisan shops line spacious al fresco shopping streets and the kids can have an absolute blast at the Sega video game arcade.

A + Gold Star - we would defiantly use Taiga again; Taiga was fun from the start of GO! His English was great, he was able to navigate Us through the city with ease! Providing us with both culture & historical facts from each location. He also was able to guide us to a fun lunch spot, giving us the opportunity to taste the cities signature dish.
Show moreWe had taken this trip to Osaka with our Granddaughter, we wanted a tour just for her to enjoy, enjoy she did! Our guide Manami had planned a great itinerary, she also got along with our Granddaughter who was sad when our tour ended. I highly recommend this tour.
Show moreMeeting Michelle in Kobe was like catching up with an old friend. She is enthusiastic, full of energy (and interesting fun facts), and catered perfectly to our group including our 9 year old grandson. We requested a guide with great spoken English skills and Michelle certainly delivered. We very much enjoyed walking the city, visiting temples and shrines, looking for the fun and hidden details, and learning about every day life in Kobe. Without Michelle we could not have seen all the things we did on an organised tour or ship shore excursion.
Show moreWe are a family of four and spend the day with Taiga visiting Kobe for the first time. We had a fun visiting a sake brewery (kids loved the ice cream), the herb gardens, China town, food stops, and finishing with an amazing dinner at Motomachi Ruke. Taiga was engaging, fun, and knowledgeable about the area. It was a great day seeing Kobe.
Show moreWe thoroughly enjoyed our personal tour through Kobe city with Keiko. The communication prior to our tour was exceptional. On the day of our tour, Keiko took us to areas of Kobe famous for it's history and sites. Keiko's knowledge base of Kobe was extensive and made easy for us to understand given her perfect english. We loved our day with Keiko and would highly recommend this tour for people with limited time that wish to see Kobe.
Show moreWe met Yoshi at the train station, and proceeded to go to the top of the mountain at Nunobiki. There was a garden, and lovely waterfalls and we walked down after taking the lift to the top. Yoshi took us around the town afterwards, where we went food-hopping, trying all different foods in Kobe. Yoshi used to live in LA and speaks English well. He is also from Kobe and showed us true Japanese hospitality. Definitely worth hiring a guide, and bonus if you get Yoshitaka.
