Neon-lit cityscapes, the regional style of sushi, and funky cosplay costumes
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
From its rich industrial history at an automotive giant to its current reputation as a fast-paced cosmopolitan hub (and major otaku hotspot thanks to downtown Osu), Nagoya is a must-see city for too many reasons to squeeze into four hours. But with a local host as the world’s most efficient GPS, you could be endlessly entertained in the downtown districts, from weaving through throngs at ultra-futuristic Oasis 21 mall next to the iconic Nagoya TV Tower to testing your luck at a hidden pachinko parlor - the popular slot machine invented right here in the city. Or, discover Japanese tradition at the historic Port of Nagoya or the Japanese-style Shirotori Garden for a teahouse ceremony.

Saki-san was our tour guide for our half day tour in Nagoya. She spoke fluent English, was a very friendly guide and we enjoyed her company! Saki was very flexible and reached out earlier prior to the actual tour to better understand our interest and places where we wanted to visit. In particular, her sharing on the history of the palace and Nagoya castle was very interesting. Lastly, Saki also introduced us to the Nagano old street and recommended a local sake bar / diner for our dinner. Thank you Saki! We highly recommend her if you are planning to tour Nagoya :)
Show moreThe best part about the tour was going to the Nagoya Castle. Anna was great, thank you!
Show moreTakako was very eager to guide us as she was already texting me a few days earlier. She was responsive to my queries and changes in places to go to. Upon meeting, Takako was very pleasant to talk to and she was always smiling while explaining the tourist places we visited. We had a great time with her.
Show moreGot to try the snacks unique to Nagoya. Yoko also provided information on the places we managed to visit, making it more meaningful.
Show moreTakako was an amazing guide—funny, approachable, and easy to talk to. She took the time to ask about our preferences and carefully planned the trip according to our wishes. We were interested in buying traditional Japanese clothing, and not only did she take us to a spot with beautiful, reasonably priced yukatas, but she also helped us choose and fit the pieces, explaining how they should be worn. Without her, such a smooth shopping experience wouldn't have been possible. As a local who speaks fluent English, she was able to explain the culture in depth and show us hidden gems. We even managed to fit in a visit to Nagoya Castle, making the tour really versatile. We truly enjoyed the experience.
Show moreAnna was awesome. It was a very hot day so she paid close attention to our needs. We loved using public transportation and every location was geared towards the enjoyment of a 10 year old. I would use Anna anytime and very comfortable referring her to friends
