You’ll snap - and chomp - your way through some of Osaka’s most picturesque parlors and eateries, discovering this incredible aspect of Osaka’s food obsession - dishes that look too good to eat! Perhaps begin at an Alice in Wonderland-themed cafe, where you’ll feel like you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole and into Wonderland thanks to the eclectic design and even more eclectic dishes.
You could create your own Japanese-style garden at the eclectic Mamezo & Cafe before eating it all up or snap some essential shots of takoyaki squid balls and matcha-infused sweets in Hozenji Yokocho, a stone-paved alleyway bursting with tiny izakaya bars that feels like it’s been frozen in time. You won’t know whether to eat the art or photograph it!

Our private food tour in Osaka was to die for, and it was all thanks to our host, Maria (^.^). She guided us through busy streets while explaining the history of some of the most popular dishes in Japan and even gave us a few history lessons about Osaka's culture. Each food dish we tried was better than the last, so we went home with full bellies and loads of memories. We would definitely recommend City Unscripted for any of your wildest adventures! 10 out of 10 :-)

This tour is definitely a must for travelers in Osaka! our guide Taku, was amazing and catered to our dietary preferences perfectly (we are both vegetarian). He was very knowledgeable and showed us some really lovely food locations but also some great cultural places and shopping. Highly recommend!

Fumiko was a joy to spend the evening with and made a fantastic effort to tailor each stop to our preferences. Being a vegetarian, I hugely appreciated the effort she took to research and plan an evening full of delicious choices. It was great to experience a bit of local Osaka whilst still being meat free!
