Hokkaidō’s mountains, Ōdōri Park, kaisen don and a Sapporo beer or two.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
If Japan’s cities were family members, Sapporo would be the cool cousin. Known for its thrilling winter sports, spectacular Hoheikyo hot springs, year-round Ōdōri Park festivals, and its iconic beer brand, Sapporo is an city that demands attention. With a local host, you’ll tick off 15 of the city’s must-sees with the ease of a ski jumper zooming down the famous Okura-yama slope. Try fresh uni (sea urchin) at the traditional Nijo Market, explore cultural hub Nakajima Park next to the Toyohira River, and visit the Sapporo Beer Museum to sample a range of delicious brews. In tranquil Maruyama Park, see 150-year-old Hokkaidō Shrine before heading to your local insider’s favorite izakaya, where the zangi chicken is extra crispy.

The tour guide was considerate by providing his Whatsapp for contact in case I couldn’t find him… which I did initially because I was on the wrong side of the station. Nonetheless, it was a nice leisurely 6 hours. Took me to the places that I had not been to yet. I am hitting up the spots he recommended me today before I head home to LA tomorrow. Great job!
Show moreVery nice tour. Enjoyed an overview of Sapporo - loved the local perspective. Loved starting, with the ski slope views over the city. Had a lovely mix of activities.
Show moreAkihiro was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, and made the experience wonderful from beginning to end when he placed us in a cab and waved goodbye.
Show moreTravelling with my 4 year old son for the first time and walking around to see places was not his thing. He had a feat because he did not walk to walk, I am grateful that Akihiro went to meet us where we were when we were lost before the meet up and travelled back to get his stroller. I loved the wagyu beef restaurant, mikyuyoshi mecca of food and tea shop since 1935 where I got to try matcha tea and ice cream. Ended with Sapporo tv tower beautiful and so memorable.I look forward to booking again another trip. Thank you Akihiro it was a trip for the books! until next time!!!

Show moreThis personalized walking tour was amazing. I lived in Japan and coming back we wanted to see non tourist local spots. Snowy and icy we easily navigated through Nakajima Koen (park) and viewed the sun through a telescope. We saw carp in local streams, enjoyed a local favorite curry soup, two stories underground. We met local dog owners and pet several Shiba Inu. Mostly though, our guide knew so much history and cultural context that Sapporo came alive for us. Thanks Zarina.
