Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Join an insightful host and get ready to discover Tokyo’s most unique stores! From the gadgets and collectibles of geeky Akihabara, or the bric-a-brac of 100-yen shops (no prizes for guessing why they’re called that), this isn’t shopping as you know it back home.
Delve into Harajuku's weird and beautiful stores, the epicenter of Tokyo’s youth culture, and experience the most out-there fashion on Takeshita-Dori, the street known for its myriad boutiques.
Deeper into the city, you could browse traditional curios in Sangenjaya, Tokyo’s hippest neighborhood, or discover hidden gems in bohemian Shimokitazawa, where thrift shopping thrives, and you could pick up a vintage kimono at the same time as a stash of vinyl!

We had a great time with our guide Abu! We reviewed our list of choices and shopping types and picked 4 areas.we really got around Tokyo and learned how to use the subway which was a plus. We picked up really unique block prints and smaller souvenirs for family. Abu helped carry our packages and took pictures. We had the best lunch at a Yakiniku restaurant and stopped for street food sweets. He was very flexible if we saw something and wanted a closer look. We enjoyed sharing our cultures and had a great day! It helped orient us to Tokyo and have been running around on our own ever since!
Show moreAbu our guide from Bangladesh was delightful! The app did not file my questionnaire after a couple of attempts - but that did not deter Abu! We met and he went over a list of areas and types of shopping offered in each and we picked 4. We learned how to use the subway and hit 4 very different areas of Tokyo. We found some beautiful block prints from a vendor that has been doing it for 400 years at reasonable pricing. Got some street food treats. If we saw something we vested off - Abu was very flexible, which we really liked. It helped us get somewhat oriented to Tokyo and we have been running around on our own since. Abu was such a gentleman and helped carry our packages. He took us to a Yakiniku restaurant ( you can grill your meat) and it was one of the best meals we have had. Abu was interesting to talk to as we share information on Tokyo, Bangladesh and the US. We really enjoyed our day!
Show moreMartina was my guide in Tokyo last week for 2 hours and I couldn’t recommend her enough. I specified in my email when booking that I wanted to see Harajuku and the kawaii fashion. She met me at my nearest train station and showed me how to buy tickets and which lines to take then we headed to Takeshita and made our way down the busy street. She pointed out lots of things and provided facts and anecdotes about the culture of Harajuku within Japan. She also took me round to see the luxury shops not 5 mins from the whacky bargains of Takeshita which was an interesting contrast! Beautiful architecture and lots of dressed up doggies to watch. She then led me back to the station and left me with some tips on where to see cherry blossom as most of the city had passed the season. Martina was great help and good to chat to, I’d recommend using City Unscripted for an immersive experience of any nooks and crannies you wouldn’t normally see.

Show moreFantastic afternoon with Amir! We can 100% recommend this tour! Amir not only took us to the main attractions in Shibuya but also introduced us to many hidden gems we would have never found on our own. It was the perfect mix of buzzing neighborhoods, culture, history, and nature – yes, he even showed us a great spot to see the cherry blossoms! Amir was an outstanding guide—friendly, reliable, and incredibly knowledgeable about Tokyo. He was also very flexible and making sure we had an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Amir, for an amazing afternoon!
