You’ll eat your way around Tokyo, a central district known for its inclusivity and crazy atmosphere. It also happens to be where chefs from all over Japan come to make a name for themselves, which means that there are more sushi joints here than spines on a sea urchin. With so many restaurants to choose try, from high-end boutique eateries to locals-only streetside vendors, a translator, aka your Japanese-speaking host, is essential!
From ordering sashimi on an iPad and having it delivered by train at a conveyor belt sushi joint to heading underground to a depachika (department store basement food hall), your host will reveal the places where Tokyoites grab their sushi - you’ll soon see there’s not an English menu in sight.

We met with Nobu outside the Shibuya Station for the start of our tour. He had already emailed me so he was familiar with our preferences. Our first stop was a premium sushi restaurant. Everything was delicious. Next we tried a revolving sushi restaurant. We had always been curious about how to order and he explained it perfectly to us. There was a Pokémon Center near the revolving restaurant. Nobu was patient enough to help me shop for my grandkids ☺️. Definitely above and beyond his job description. Lastly he took us to a fabulous market underneath the Shibuya Station. He showed us how to select takeaway sushi. All the food we ate on the tour was delicious but the market was probably our favorite. We went back several times before we left Tokyo!

Maruf did a great job taking me around the local fish market. I was able to sample the best food of my choice. Highly recommended for first time visitors to Japan.

Maruf took me to the local seafood market and showed me a couple of interesting places to get excellent sushi at a sit down counter as well as uni, A5 beef skewers and king crab at a street stall. The mochi stall and unique local coffee shop that serves any of the many available bean varieties as a drink for you were excellent. Thank you so much for the first push for me to ,continue enjoying Tokyo on my own!

Miwa was so sweet and did a great job making an itinerary that matched our requests. We got to try a wide variety of sushi and sashimi. We loved chatting with Miwa and hearing about her too. Overall a fabulous experience and highly recommend!

Our guide Ayaka was wonderful - perfect English, clear communication, super nice and friendly, very knowledgeable about popular tourist areas and places with locals only. We've had sushi in many countries before, but quality and variety of sushi that we tried on this tour far excided all of our previous experiences and expectations!
