What you’ll do

You’ll immerse yourself in Mexico City’s food culture with one of our Mexican hosts, and by immersing we mean you’re going to eat a lot of incredible street food (a practical approach is best, we always find). Street food is king here, so you’ll explore a neighborhood of the city and eat at various street food stalls and taquerías for a taste of the real deal.

With dozens of varieties of tortas, pozole, mole, sopes and esquites to try, and that’s before you’ve even got us started on the dizzying world of tacos with their various toppings, salsas, and garnishes. You’ll be glad someone’s here to show you the ropes.

Feast your way through the streets and try the dishes which keep the city going at the places you know are authentic - it’s not hard to see, or taste, why CDMX has one of the best street food scenes in the world. And we suppose there’s always room for dessert. Fresh mango with chili, la concha sweet bread, or churros, anyone?

Marisol was a wonderful guide who is passionate and knowledgable. She made it a wonderful food experience in Mexico City

Marisol chose a market tour and food stalls and small restaurants that gave us a true sense of how locals shop and eat. This was the furthest from “tourist traps” you can get and worth every penny of the tour fee. Marisol was full of information about Mexican culture and habits, which she shared with infectious enthusiasm. Being an experienced global traveler and student herself, she brought a worldly but also very personal perspective to her narrative. There is no way, as visitors (for a few days) to Mexico City, we could have duplicated this “deep dive” into local (food) culture by ourselves. Plus, we felt totally safe doing so, guided by Marisol, being warmly greeted everywhere by friendly shopkeepers and foodstall workers - and with the virtually complete absence of other tourists. Brava! Marisol for a most enjoyable introduction to your home country. A highly recommended food tour if you want to experience a slice of the “real” Mexico. Douglas, Linda, Kirstin & Robert

We had an incredible experience with Roberto in Mexico City! He was welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home. His knowledge of local culture, history, and current issues really enriched our understanding of the city. Instead of just taking us to the typical tourist spots, he guided us through vibrant neighborhoods, and shared stories that brought the city to life. The highlight, was the food! He took us to amazing local taquerias we never would have found on our own. Every bite was a culinary adventure! Roberto’s enthusiasm, expertise, and personalized approach made the tour unforgettable. If you’re looking for an authentic and engaging experience in Mexico City, this guide is a must! Highly recommended.

First, Roberto has a wide range of knowledge and not just about food. We did a taco tour around the Condesa area. Each place he gave a very detailed knowledge of how they were prepared. We started with a breakfast version. We also went to different types of locations. Dine in ones and a street stand. All were delicious. But beyond that, he knew about the area, Mexico history, and just generally a great tour guide. I was here with my brother. It made for a perfect day !

Roberto was an outstanding guide! We indulged in an amazing variety of tacos from four different vendors, each showcasing the old and new ways to enjoy this beloved dish. His walking tour of Condesa Roma was an adventure we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. We also stopped in Roma for some craft beers and enjoyed a flight of their unique brews. I came to CDMX to visit my sister, who was here for work, and we stayed in Polanco. This tour was a fantastic way to explore a different part of this beautiful city while savoring delicious food and engaging in stimulating conversation with Roberto. It's safe to say he made our entire trip unforgettable!
