In a taco shell (get it?), you’ll discover the dizzying world of tacos in Mexico City with one of our Mexican hosts, who can’t wait to show you that the real deal is nothing like the Americanized version you may be used to.
There are hundreds of types of tacos and thousands of taquerías you could try them at, and let's not forget the various toppings and salsas you can garnish them with. We find that when learning new things, a practical approach is key, so to learn about the taco scene, you’ll need to do a fair amount of eating!
You’ll explore the city together, trying different types of tacos at some very local spots indeed, and discover the explosive flavor and texture combinations mounted atop the tortilla. Tacos even pre-date the Spanish arrivals, so rest assured you’re learning about an important part of Mexico City’s heritage. Who said prolonged snacking wasn’t educational?

The tour was perfect. It was just my teen, the tour guide, and me. We got a personalized experience that went at the right pace and allowed us to see and learn things we would never have seen or learned on our own. The tour guide Marisol spoke excellent English, was friendly, and well informed.

You know you’ve hit the taco jackpot when locals are lining up outside the door! Ingrid showed us some great spots, and modified the tour to leave us close to our AirBnb at the end. We found ourselves inviting her to come visit us in the states as we said goodbye. We would definitely recommend both Ingrid and the taco tour to anyone who loves authentic regional food!

What an amazing evening in the Jamaica Market and surrounding area for delicious food. As a guide, Marisol was warm, engaging, and so full of fascinating information about an off-the-beaten-path part of CDMX.
