Mercado de San Miguel, secret sunset spots and the Museo Nacional del Prado.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Madrid is a city so full of life and culture and although it may be impossible to see it all in just a few hours, getting an authentic and memorable impression of this vibrant city is not. You’ll join one of our local Madrid hosts for a taste of what makes their city so special, in their humble opinion that is!
Whether you see yourself strolling along grand Baroque boulevards or gritty local neighborhoods, sipping vermouth and nibbling tapas on a terrace, or seeing some grand sights like the Royal Palace and Museo Nacional del Prado, it’s all up to you.
All we’re sure of is that your experience will be like exploring Madrid with a friend; just let us know what your style is, and we’ll do the rest! This golden metropolis will steal your heart one way or another, we’re just not sure if it will be watching the sunset from the Temple de Debod, in an obscure little tapas bar or while you’re eating your way around the recently refurbished Mercado de San Miguel - that part is all up to you and your host!

Lisa was fantastic-very flexible and accommodating; she adjusted the itinerary on the fly and customized the experience according to our interests. All in all, a wonderful day in Madrid!
Show moreSpending this time with Lisa as our guide through the neighborhoods of Madrid was fantastic! We loved the opportunity to customize where we went and what we saw all throughout the day! We learned about the history and culture of Madrid, as well as stopped at some local spots to see shops and cafes that had an interesting history. Exploring with Lisa was like spending time with a friend. She was informative and funny, checking if we were enjoying our time, and giving us a perspective to what it is like to live in Madrid. We also loved hearing her stories about her journey to Madrid from Venezuela and the US, and we are so impressed with her entrepreneurial spirit of starting her own company. Fantastic day! Highly recommend! Thank you Lisa for highlighting the wonderful city of Madrid for our family!
Show moreThe option I chose for the tour was the 4 hours one and my guide for the day was Marina. I was able to book a tour starting around lunch time as the day was rainy in the morning and Marina was able to accommodate a delayed time to avoid the rain. Once we started the tour we were very lucky and not only stopped raining but the temperature was very nice for a walk like this. Marina took me around all the centre of Madrid, telling me about the history, how the city has developed and showing me all the most historical and best tourist stops. Being a private tour we were able to customize the stops and have one for refreshments and a little break. We also did not spend so much time in the Literary quarter as I had already covered the area in a tapas tour the previous day. If you choose a longer tour you might be able to make visiting stops. Regardless I got plenty of additional tips for places to visit during my stay and had plenty of opportunities to take photographs. Thank you Marina for experience, best of luck.
