You might like to start your day with a traditional Taiwanese breakfast before heading to Liberty Square. From here, many of the famous attractions are accessible to you, and you can get your history (and Instagram) kicks by exploring one or many of the surrounding temples and buildings.
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a biggie! Ask your host about its political significance. Travel back in time on Bopiliao Old Street - a relic from the Qing Dynasty, or catch a tangerine sunset at Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf. The day is yours and your host is there to help you command it!

Our guide, Green, was wonderful. He helped arrange a day itinerary to hit the highlights of Taipei and was flexible when we needed to adjust timing / locations on the fly. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a city tour in Taipei, and it exceeded all my expectations. Winnie, my tour host was well-organized, introducing me to a perfect blend of cultural immersion, historical insight, traditional foods and shopping. In the 5 hours we managed to comfortably see Lin A Taipei historical house, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, changing of the guards followed by the beautiful Longshan Temple. Winnie provided a terrific overview of Taipei's charm in the short time I had available. Highly recommended this tour!
