Steamy food carts, colourful shrines, bargains to be haggled over and Taipei 101.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
No airport (regardless of its frosty air conditioning and vast duty-free halls) is worth missing out on exploring a whole new city. Taipei is happening all around you, and with one of our local Taipei hosts by your side, you’ll be able to enjoy a snapshot of it despite time constraints.
Bust out of the airport, let them worry about getting you back on time, and take to the streets together. In all honesty, once you’ve tasted giant chicken chops, catching flights somehow seems less important.
In Taipei, there is always something on the go, day or night. During your time in the city, you could visit Ximending - the uber neon and vibrant shopping district, Bopiliao Old Street, a night market, Liberty Square or simply explore a neighborhood that catches your eye.
Trade-in lounges for a hike and souvenir shops for authentic Taiwanese gifts - it’s all about seizing the day (or night) in this one, and we’re sure your taste of Taipei will have you wanting to come back for seconds.

Excellent guide, excellent service, very friendly and knowledgeable.
Show moreShe was amazing! She treated me like a friend from the start, taking me to a fantastic local brunch spot. We also explored some great sights together. One of the highlights was a visit to a Michelin-rated restaurant, where the noodles were absolutely delicious—and the best part? I only paid about $20! Such a steal. As a true foodie, she made sure my belly was always full, and I loved every moment of it!
Show moreHad an amazing time with Vila on my layover tour in Taipei! Vila picked me up from the airport and drove me around the city showing me a local fish market and outdoor food market, the famous Dihua street, and the beautiful Chiang Kai-shek memorial. We tried yummy treats all around and she showed me some wonderful spots to pick up some tea and a few other little souvenirs. She did a wonderful job customizing our few hours to what was important to me and shared so much about her culture and the history of Taiwan. I would definitely recommend booking a tour if you have a long layover rather than just sitting it out in the airport.
Show morePerfect layover activity. Green met us at an easy to find spot and was very knowledgeable with Taiwan. He presented an itinerary but was understanding and flexible when we needed to adjust it. Perfect mix of culture and history.
Show moreGreen was great!
Show moreGuide was patient and very accommodating. Watched my belongings for me while I shopped. I think it’s important to know that the price of the tour only pays for transportation to and from airport. It does not pay for all the stops on the train between that time. I thought for the price, all transportation could have been paid.
