What you’ll do

Dive into the macabre and mysterious world of Jack the Ripper, guided by a local host with a penchant for dark humor and intriguing tales. This isn't your run-of-the-mill history lesson—it's a walk on the wild side, blending eerie anecdotes, historical revelations, and the vibrant atmosphere of London's East End.

Kick off at Aldgate East Station, where you'll meet your host at Exit 3 by the Whitechapel Gallery. A quick jaunt brings you to Goulston Street. Brace yourself for a creepy start, where a piece of Catherine Eddowes' apron was found alongside a chalk message that even Sherlock Holmes would find baffling. It's the perfect spot to set the tone for an evening of grim discoveries and dark humor.

Next, head to Mitre Square, the scene of Eddowes' grisly end. While the square may have had a makeover, the chilling plaque marks the spot where history got bloody. Your host will serve up the gory details with a side of wit, making sure you won't forget this haunting location anytime soon.

Shake off the shivers with a stroll to Petticoat Lane Market, a historic hub that's been buzzing since the 17th century. Among the eclectic mix of stalls, your host will reveal how the market's chaotic charm mirrors the socio-economic backdrop of the Ripper's era. It's a lively slice of history, perfect for a breather from all the grim tales.

Then, it's off to White's Row, formerly Dorset Street, where Mary Jane Kelly met her untimely demise. The street might look different now, but the spooky vibes remain. Your host's darkly comedic take on the site will leave you both horrified and entertained.

Next stop: The Ten Bells Pub, a Victorian relic that served as the watering hole for some of the Ripper's victims. The pub's timeworn charm makes it feel like you've stepped into a scene from a gothic novel. Pair that with your host's cheeky insights, and you've got a recipe for a memorable stop.

Adjacent to the pub is Christchurch Spitalfields, a majestic landmark that adds a dash of historical gravitas to your journey. Your host will highlight its significance during the Ripper's reign of terror, blending facts with a touch of dark humor.

Onwards to 29 Hanbury Street, the site of Annie Chapman's brutal murder. While the original building is gone, the location's grim history lingers. Your host's storytelling will make sure you feel the weight of the past, with a hint of sardonic wit to lighten the mood.

As you walk along Whitechapel Road, soak in the atmosphere of the Ripper's old stomping grounds. The historic buildings and your host's vivid descriptions will transport you back to 1888, with a few dark chuckles along the way.

Finally, pass by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. Though not directly linked to the murders, this landmark adds to the eerie ambiance. It's a fitting end to an experience filled with spine-chilling stories and twisted humor.

This Jack the Ripper experience is no ordinary walk. Guided by a local host who knows how to mix intrigue with a dash of dark humor, you'll uncover the hidden corners and forgotten tales of London's East End. And remember, this adventure is all about you—feel free to let your host know if there's something you're dying to see more of or prefer to skip. Get ready for a thrilling, unforgettable journey into the heart of one of history's darkest mysteries.

She thoughtfully planned out the tour for me based on what I was interested in. She was very knowledgable about the areas we went to and made recommendations for other places to go after my tour and for future trips. The tea and scones we had were also delicious! I will definitely recommend this to anyone I know who is traveling to London :)

It was more like being with a friend than a guide. He provided a lot of information and we joked back and forth.

Nice trip. Local markets were explored with unique food tastings. Infact it was not tasting and we were full by the tour ended

We had a long layover in London and decided to take a tour while we waiting for our connecting flight. Our tour guide was super flexible (we ran into some flight delays) and was able to adjust the tour to accommodate our travel requirements for the day. From the Tower of London to Buckingham Palace and Big Ben we got all the highlights in just over 4 hours. It was the perfect way to experience London when you have limited time, or get to know the city at the beginning of a trip.
