Vibrant art culture, edgy street art, a standing espresso joint and a Tokyo-esque alleyway.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
There is an edgy side to Melbourne and it shines through in the city's vibrant street-art culture. You'll join one of our local Melbourne hosts to discover microcosms of the city’s art and cultural scene aka the laneways - who knew so much creativity could be unleashed in such a small space!
You’ll find every kind of street art possible hidden down unassuming alleyways, tiny lanes, and arcades so jam-packed with bars and eateries, and your host can’t wait to share as much of it as they can with you.
Discover the famous arcades which are known to be hubs of artistic expression, or why not duck down the city's back streets where the work of up-and-coming street art is hidden, for local eyes only.
Stop for a beer or a coffee (Aussie’s will always tell you their coffee is the best in the world, we’ll let you be the judge) or grab some dim sum from a hole-in-the-wall eatery en route to Meyer’s Place.
This quirky spot is reminiscent of the backstreets of Tokyo, with an Aussie twist thrown in of course - you’ll find small bars which double as arts and cultural venues, hosting arthouse film screenings, gallery exhibitions, and live music, all plastered by incredible street art.
And the best part is, no laneway will ever look the same twice, so what are you waiting for?

We visited Melbourne’s CBD with Rhonda. Rhonda was very passionate about her city, its lane ways, street art, arcades and the history behind it all. She provided us with great instructions on how to get to back to our ship with all kind of neat detours and sites to visit along the way. We had a fabulous tour and we highly recommend booking with “City unscripted“ specially with Rhonda!
Show moreWe really enjoyed this walking tour around Melbourne. The guide was very friendly and relaxed. The tour was informative and interesting, without being overwhelming. We saw lots of interesting and amazing sites and it was well worth the money.
Show moreBecause of my 3 full days short trip in Melbourne, I decided to book a personalized tour, to be able to get some city history, relevant places, architecture knowledge, fast, organized, as my time in the city was limited and had no opportunity to read or get informed, prior the trip. Chris (my guide), after the usual greetings, took his time to break the ice, and get one more confirmation about my interests, making sure that i hadn't change my mind. In 3, almost 4 hours, Chris has managed to take me to great, beautiful places in Melbourne, starting with iconic Flinders Street and Station, to St Patrick's Cathedral, the Parliament House, Royal Building, ACDC street and so many others ...and at every stop Chris provided relevant facts and the story behind each place/building. It's quite amazing how much information and knowledge you get from 4 hours of conversing, walking, listening and enjoying the views. Chris made sure that I get enough pointers and suggestions from my next day, and because of his tips succeeded to have a very "proficient" day on my own as well. For those who have limited time in Melbourne, and you want to get to know the city and its beauty, I highly recommend the tour, and Chris :-) - as his love and admiration for the city contributed to my decision to return next year.
Show moreExcellent tour. Lots of historical knowledge about the city and Australia. She took us to a great coffee shop and went out of her way to make sure we got to our lunch reservation! A morning with Cherida will make our 6 day trip to this lovely city more fruitful for sure. Thank you!
Show moreIt was the first time we had the opportunity to have a private tour customized based on our areas of interest. What a great idea to be sent a questionnaire prior to our trip, to help our guide plan it for us. Went for a three-hour tour on the day of our arrival in Melbourne after having traveled all the way from the east coast of USA. Our exceptional guide Rhonda kept us going and made the three hours feel too short. Highly recommended!
