You’ll join one of our hosts for a jaunt to Lantau Island, where you’ve no doubt heard rumors of the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. Wonder no more, it’s all true, but as well as this our host wants to show you another side of island life, one that’s more laid back and has been known to include pink dolphins (we’re not joking, elusive pink river dolphins can still be spotted here, if you’re lucky).

The interior of this mountainous island is one of rugged natural beauty, so grab your hiking boots and explore one of its trails, or visit the Tai O fishing village, renowned for its unique take on house-building - it’s all quirky homes on stilts here!

Of course, you’ll need some food along the way too, so why not head to a choice seafood market where you can sample produce coveted by Hong Kong’s most famous chefs and speak to the locals about their customs? Your host can’t wait to share with you a thoroughly different side of Hong Kong; it’s not all skyscrapers and fast-paced finance, you know.
