The Kobe Port Tower, sweeping coastlines, fresh alpine air and the weird and wonderful of Chinatown.
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
You’ll spend the day with one of our local Kobe hosts and discover the true nature of the city. If nature happens to be your thing, you’re in luck - there’s plenty of it - the city is wedged between sweeping coastlines and vast mountain ranges after all.
But that is not all there is to Kobe and with one of our awesome hosts by your side, even the most famous sights like Ikuta Shrine and Kobe Port Tower will take on new and authentic characteristics. Today you are not a tourist but an explorer (Indiana Jones style) so grab that explorer hat (maybe leave the whip at home) and get ready for adventure!
You might want to discover one of Kobe's eclectic neighborhoods, explore the thriving Kobe Motomachi Shopping Street, and indulge in authentic cuisine while soaking up the vibe in Nankinmachi, Kobe’s Chinatown.
Maybe you’ll discover hidden gems along the way, like the smaller shrines and historic streets that many visitors miss - but not you! Heads up - there are tons of weird, wacky, and fun places are hidden between the hotspots on your hit list that your host can’t wait to share with you.
You’ll have a blast together, we promise.

Show moreRio, our guide was fabulous. He speaks perfect English. He lived in Ann Arbor MI for 9 years until he was 18. He picked us up at port and we went by local transportation. We saw some cool Kobe sights but best of all was Katani and synagogue where we spent about an hour with the rabbi and some. Congregants. A real rush while in Japan. Thanks Rio !⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Show moreRio was a great tour guide and we had a great time in Kyoto and really enjoyed seeing Kitani area and then he took us to see a synagogue where we spent an hour with the rabbi. It was such a rush to be there and we really enjoyed his personal comments And his worm nature.
Show moreAsk for the local experience. We skipped this history and temples since we’ve done so many this trip. Angelica took us to ma and pa shop to eat. We did the Photo Booth experience that girls like to do here. We ended the tour with a Kobe beef experience, pricey but very good and we were expecting it wasn’t going to be cheap.
Show moreTaiga was a great local tour guide and a great guy to spend time with! Would definitely recommend him and do it again next time!
Show moreAngelica made sure we saw the real Kobe. We saw it from an observation deck. We went to Chinatown and sampled the street food. We went to a wonderful secondhand store and shopped until we dropped. We ended the day with a real Kobe beef meal. The day was perfect!
