A unique chance to experience the cherry blossom season's traditions like a local - the best sakura viewing spots, traditional eats, and a serene hana
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Embrace this unique opportunity to partake in “hanami”, the cherished Japanese practice of cherry blossom viewing that remains a hidden treasure for many travelers. With your host, you'll delve into a tradition where locals gather under blooming sakura to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Your adventure begins in a park that's a mosaic of history and nature, where the cherry blossoms stand guard over storied paths. Your host will tell you the tales behind the scenery, connecting you with the park's past as you take in the peaceful surroundings.
A stroll by the Nakashima river lets you join locals in one of their favorite spring pastimes: pausing to appreciate the simple pleasure of cherry blossoms along the banks. Here, in these moments, Nagasaki’s culture comes to life through the stories your guide shares.
Next, you'll dive into the vibrant world of a local “depachika”, Japan's answer to a food lover's paradise. With your host's help, you'll choose from an array of bento boxes filled with regional flavors and seasonal specialties, creating the perfect picnic spread.
Your host will then lead you to a quiet spot, away from the well-trodden tourist paths. Settle down for a picnic that’s as much about community and conversation as it is about food and flowers. It’s a chance to live the local rhythm of Nagasaki during sakura season.
This experience is about connection — to a place, its people, and their customs. You’ll come away with a sense of Nagasaki's heartbeat during cherry blossom season, having shared in a tradition that's a treasured slice of local life.

Our guide, Sho was exceptional. He altered the trip, after meeting us, to visit other stores and sites he thought we would enjoy. We had a lovely picnic under the full bloom cherry blossoms that was so memorable. Everything about the experience with Sho and the Tour company was fantastic. They stayed in contact with us the weeks before our visit and everything went so smoothly and we enjoyed every minute! I would highly recommend Sho and this company. We were so impressed we are booking a similar tour when we are in Tokyo.
Show moreSho was fantastic. He built the perfect day for us with a combination of shopping andical culture. We had the most perfect picnic under the full bloom cherry blossoms. If was wonderful learning about Nagasaki and the local culture and food specialities. I hope anyone booking this trip is lucky enough to have Sho show them his Nagasaki.
Show moreIt was a very nice tour, Mr. Masaaki was very friendly and told us a lot :) The picnic under the cherry trees was the absolute highlight, beautiful!
Show moreShin provided a wonderful tour of Nagasaki. He met us on time, was very personable and his English was very good. The cherry blossoms were not blooming, except for a few trees, but that did not stop us from having a great day. He provided bento box lunches, catering to our likes, and we had a very nice lunch in a park by one of the few blooming trees. A great day despite Mother Nature not cooperating.
Show moreShinn met us on time at the cruise port just as planned. He arranged a nice itinerary around the city focused on its natural beauty. One in our group is in a wheelchair , which he was able to accommodate nicely. He provided a magnificent Bento box lunch on a pleasant hillside before taking us back. He even took time to help us navigate a huge mall in search of some special items. Friendly, knowledgeable and easily understood English, Shinn is your Nagasaki guide.
Show moreMiki was wonderful. She really knew everything and took us to all the places we asked about. The restaurant she chose for lunch was perfect and our last stop for a saki tasting was so much fun.
