The Edinburgh you want to experience in a day! See the main sites, taste the diverse food scene or go off the tourist trail. It's totally up to you!
Here’s everything you need to know before your day unfolds.
Oh, bonny Scotland. You’ll spend a day in Edinburgh with one of our friendly Edinburgh hosts, seeing what there is to see, eating what there is to eat, and just having a top time in general.
Edinburgh is a city of many delights - with poetry-inscribed pavements and zealous, story-telling bartenders in each pub - it really is a feeling rather than a mere place.
It is this, that your host will try to share with you. Of course, you might want to check out some of the main sites like the Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Scott Monument, or Holyrood Park before taking a turn off the beaten path and allowing your host to share some of the less-touristy spots with you.
Take in the view from Calton Hill and see how seamlessly Edinburgh blends in with its green surrounds; settling comfortably atop the crags as it’s done for centuries.
Perhaps you’d like to discover Old Town together or sample some Scottish snacks at the Edinburgh Food Market.
We’re talking fresh produce, famous beers, and (if you’re brave), some haggis. Enjoy making this historic city your own, with bonny memories and plenty of scotch, ye ken?

He was a very pleasant and friendly guide. I would like to use him again. I will return to my home country with good memories.
Show moreExcellent experience with tour guide Colin who is delightful company and very knowledgeable and entertaining. I took the full day tour and recommend without hesitation. Saw part of Edinburgh that I would otherwise never think of.
Show moreMy wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience discovering Edinburgh thanks to Joe Pryor. His knowledge of the city was outstanding but his wit, charm, and literary voice put it over the top! Thanks to his attention to geographical details we were easily able to navigate the city on our subsequent days here like pseudo locals. We were sorry when our time together concluded. If/when we return we will seek out Joe.
Show moreThe Edinburgh city tour with Colin was greatly worth it. He customized the tour for us, keeping our interests and needs in mind. We appreciated his knowledge, flexibility, and humor. Some of his jokes landed a day after.
Show moreHe was a great guide and showed us all of the important places in Old Town. He made sure we got some lunch and took breaks for my little ones tired feet. He was kind and attentive.
Show moreDoug Scott was awesome! He truly set the stage for our stay in Edinburgh. We did a 6 hour walking tour and his knowledge of the history of the city was amazing. We learned things you just cannot get from randomly walking around on your own. Ask for Doug when booking your tour! He's fantastic!
