Hello! I’m Benny, your adventurous local host in Hong Kong. I’m passionate about sharing the vibrant and diverse experiences this city has to offer. One of my favorite things about Hong Kong is the incredible variety of food and drinks available everywhere—whether it’s savoring tender BBQ pork or indulging in crispy roast duck, there's always something delicious to try. I also appreciate how easy it is to get around the city and how safe it feels. When I’m not exploring the bustling streets or enjoying a meal, you can find me hiking on beautiful trails like Dragon’s Back and Lamma Island or relaxing on a boat trip and lounging on the beach. I love discovering all the cool neighborhoods and the unique charm they each have. I’m also well-versed in local highlights like the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. We booked a walking food tour with city unscripted Hong Kong, which lasted for three hours. Benny was our guide and reached out to us prior to meeting to discuss our preferences, food, allergies, and any other issues we might have. Professional, knowledgeable and accommodating, the perfect host. He was at the arranged meeting place, and we have to give him extra credit for informing us that our cruise ship was not coming into the docking port that we were originally told by our cruise line. Meeting up with seamless. While we arranged for this private tour for the two of us, I would recommending taking a party of 4 to 6 since we had so much food we could not possibly finish at all. Started with a short walk and a sit down BBQ restaurant, where we sampled the goose,BBQ & roasted pork. We shared the dishes and they were all served with rice and vegetables. Our next stop was a custard tart store, which is one of the most popular in the area. We had a walk-through the night market looking at all the various foods, but opted not to try anything there since we were pretty full already. We also had a short walk through the ladies market in that area. Everything you buy on Amazon was available at the stalls. The next restaurant was another local eatery where we sampled the oyster omelette, and local mantis shrimp. Benny wanted to order more food, but frankly, we were getting pretty full and so had plenty of leftovers at this restaurant. Our final stop was a dessert restaurant which has had a Michelin star for the last 7 to 8 years. At first, we told Benny that we were going to pass because we were so full but we did stop and sample three dishes. One of them was my favorite dish of the night Benny had us back to our ship in time to watch the Hong Kong light show at 8 o’clock. He was professional, educated and we had a wonderful time with him during our short tour. So how many times did I say we were so full? :-). It’s a great personal tour for 2, but can easily accommodate more as long as they are friends who enjoy the same eating experiences.

The day we spent with Benny was great. We went to Lantau Island and Benny was kind, friendly and provided excellent information.

Benny was totally worth every penny! He made a program totally accustomed to my interests and I had a full day of sightseeing. One may be reluctant to spend money on a tour guide, but think again: it is by far the best way to explore the city and find streets and alleys that one cannot find alone!
