Our guide, Balazs, was absolutely amazing! If I could rate this even higher than a ten, I would rate it a 20++++. He met us in the lobby of our hotel and we began our tour of Budapest. Krisztian was a great guide. He knew so much about the history as well as everything current, and wnjoyed making conversation. He introduced us to good food and drink, and really helped make our short visit to Budapest eventful. At the end of our tour, he even took time to help get us into a busy restaurant so we could continue our night. He showed us some amazing views and we got many excellent photos!

Kristzian met us at our hotel. After asking us what we were interested in doing, he decided that a tour of the Food Market was what we would do. As we walked to the market, he told us about the history of the area we were in. At the market, we toured the first floor filled with local foods and alcohol. On the second floor, we decided to try some traditional Hungarian dishes that were very good. We left the market and traveled by public transportation to a pastry shop where we had pastry and lemonade. We concluded the tour with Kristzian sharing additional information about his city.

Richard set a pace that was comfortable for us. We started with the Jewish corner then did a large circle back to our hotel. He also took us to a great street that had many Hungarian food options. We saw the many highlights that are part of the Pest side of Budapest. He gave us great suggestions for seeing the other side.

Every place we visited had so much history and our tour guide, Richard, shared such valuable information about each one. It was a great experience to be guided by a local and we highly recommend this walking tour to learn about the highlights so you can then explore based on your interests. The visit to the market and the Parliament were my favorites.

Richard was flexible, informative, and entertaining as he lead eight of us on a 4 hour private tour. We had proposed an ambitious tour through the Jewish Quarters to City Park and back. However, as we approached City Park and began to flag, he adjusted our plan so that instead of walking back to the hotel we took the underground, which he had told use we should experience, back to city center and closer to our Hotel. Our party peppered Richard with questions and discussions about how Budapest compared to other cities, the origins of the Hungarian language and the Ottoman influences on Budapest. As a history teacher Richard kept the conversation going with interesting insights. We had a physicist amongst use who was ecstatic to hear that Edward Teller went to High School nearby and oohed and awed over the plague on the school listing other Noble laureate scientists who attended the school. Richard knew all the names and the history of the school and scientists. As usual with Viator, arranging the tour, communicating with Richard before hand to customize the tour and meeting up with and being dropped off at the hotel went smoothly and easily.

Lorinc was a wonderful guide. He listened to us and what our interests were, and tailored our experience accordingly. We never felt rushed, and he spent plenty of time explaining not only food information but local history. We would happily go on another tour with him.

The truth is that it's a very large and colorful wonder, where you can find everything. Comfortable and touristy. No stop lacks details; it's definitely one of the places you must visit. We're delighted to have visited it.

We had a delightful experience exploring Budapest and tasting some typical dishes. He was interesting and so knowledgeable. He was very interested in making sure we had the experience we expected, and made sure to pace our tour in a way that worked for everyone. We would happily have him guide us again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon with Lorinc. He was so knowledgeable about the history of Hungary, and thoroughly engaging throughout our afternoon. He made sure that he provided an experience that we wanted and visited spots and tasted foods that were of the most interest to us in a leisurely and unhurried manner. Agnes was an exceptional tour guide. She was knowledgeable and built the tour to our preferences, which we gave via a survey ahead of meeting her.

Agnes was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable of the history and current status of Buda/Pest and Hungary as a whole. She tailored the tour to what we wanted to see, which was Pest side only, and covered it all in the 4 hours we reserved. We recommend requesting Agnes and will seek her out when we return to explore the Buda side.

This was a well-led walk through some of Budapest’s lively neighborhoods. Guide Agnes quickly adapted her plans to match up with my interests, making it a very personalized experience. We sampled food, discussed local art, culture and history, and all in a relaxed way. This is a great way to experience a city for the first time.

I was pleased with how quickly Agnes got acquainted with me so she could craft a unique and personally valuable tour of essential highlights —not just with food but with visual arts, historical background and things unique to Budapest. It was a relaxing and tasty way to experience a lot of the city in a short time.

He really cared what we wanted to say. He was very knowledgeable on the history of Budapest and my husband really enjoyed that. If you’re in Budapest, I would highly recommend you do it tour with Sandro.

Sandor was a great walking tour guide. He was accommodating with my itinerary and provided helpful tips and routes for the day.

We literally only had 5 hours so rather than wonder round on our own not really know where we were going or looking at we decided to do the tour. So glad we did. We got to see what we needed, understood what it was, got to ask questions and chat about other things and best of all it was just us, no large groups of others. Would definitely recommend. Our guide Sándor was very knowledgeable.

Maria was a fantastic host, very friendly and considerate and very accommodating. She was really eager to show us as much as possible, and also happy to go at our own pace and ready to help us with anything we needed. Like having an old friend in the city to take you around!
