Hi, I’m Mone, your local host in Fukuoka! What I love most about my city is the amazing food—there’s always something delicious around every corner. While Tokyo might feel like New York, Fukuoka has that laid-back California vibe, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. You’ll often find me in Tenjin, hunting for cool thrift finds and grabbing a tasty bite to eat, or relaxing at Ohori Park, enjoying a peaceful boat ride. I know the Kashii, Chihaya, Hakozaki, Yoshizuka, and Tenjin neighborhoods really well, and I’m your go-to guide for the best sweets, street food, and hamburger joints. Plus, I know all the local shrines if you're into exploring Fukuoka’s cultural side! Let’s have fun discovering the heart of Fukuoka together!
Having Mone tell me what the Japanese sweets were so I could make a more intelligent choice from the huge array of Japanese sweets. Given that I use a walker and that it was a rainy day, Mone was able to accommodate that in our planning. I didn't really want to go to Museums and galleries I was able to share lunch and chat for quite a while about Japan and hear from Mone about her life here. Not what most people want but it suited me very well indeed.
