Hey there! I'm Mike, your friendly neighborhood host here in Fukuoka. Whether it's wandering through the compact city or venturing out to the countryside for some unforgettable adventures, I'm always up for the journey. From Hakata to Tenjin, Dazaifu to Kurume, I know these neighborhoods like the back of my hand. You'll often find me exploring historical museums, ancient temples, and samurai residences, eager to uncover the secrets of Japan's past. And if you're curious about sumo wrestling, well, I've got you covered. I'm well-versed in the sport's history and culture. Need tips for the best spots to hike? I know all the best routes, whether it's a casual 5-kilometer walk or a more adventurous trek through Dazaifu and Sasaguri. So, if you're ready to explore Fukuoka's wonders, I've got you covered! Let's make some memories together.
Mike was very personable. Even though it rained Mike continued to make sure we had a wonderful experience.

Mike was a sensational guide and did whatever we suggested taking us up the Tower for a view of the City then on to the old and new parts of the city, explaining and showing in detail how the Old Town is transformed during Yamakasa festival then showing the new Acros "green building" in modern town as well as the fascinating Engineer Cafe. It was easy to communicate with Mike as he had a USA and Japanese background. I would highly recommend him as a tour guide and more as he has such extensive knowledge of Japan

Great, I really enjoyed the tour. We saw many sights and Mike was incredibly knowledgeable on the historical, cultural, culinary, and architectural aspects of Fukuoka. The tour was organic and catered to my desires of tasting local Fukuoka savory foods as well as sweets/confectionary to satisfy my sweet tooth. The food and sweets were all delicious, by the way. We covered a lot of ground on foot and I left with a great sense of having seen a fair amount of the city as well as getting an in-depth understanding of the city’s history and culture, etc. Had a blast and look forward to visiting Fukuoka again in the future.

Had an excellent tour with Mike. I was impressed with how much historical and cultural context Mike was able to give on the sights/shrines we visited or passed by. I got a rich sense in understanding of Fukuoka’s history, which was interesting because I visited the Fukuoka city Museum the day prior so I was able to get more details with Mike and a well rounded appreciation for Fukuoka’s culture and history. The food spots we toured were great as they were local Fukuoka delicacies and we were even able to satisfy my sweet tooth with local confectionary/dessert and matcha spots. Thanks again for the tour Mike!
