Hey there! I'm Sho, your friendly local host here in beautiful Kanazawa. I'm drawn to traditional cultural activities, like trying my hand at metal casting in Takaoka city or indulging in a woodcarving experience in the Inami district of Nanto city. There's just something magical about immersing yourself in the rich heritage of Toyama. As a Kanazawa expert, I've delved into the intricacies of our infrastructures, with insights on gems like the Kurobe dam. But it's not just about the landmarks; I've woven myself into the fabric of our neighborhoods, knowing the ins and outs like the back of my hand. Whether it's sharing stories of my traditional handicraft adventures or guiding you through the hidden gems of our region, you can count on me to make your Kanazawa experience unforgettable. Let's have fun on this journey together!

My reviews

Sho had gone to a lot of trouble to research the brief we had given him. We enjoyed seeing Kanazawa with his translations and friendly conversations. Thank you!!

As part of our cruise circumnavigating the islands of Japan, we had only one day to explore Kanazawa. To maximize our time we booked a full day private tour which we thoroughly enjoyed with our guide, Shoten. First of all we really appreciated how well he communicated with us via email early on to plan the day visiting historical and cultural sites. On short notice the cruise line changed our itinerary by one day, and thankfully, Shoten was available. He accommodated the schedule change, and we did most everything we had originally planned - Kenrokuen Castle & Gardens, Samurai & Geisha districts, lunch at a local family restaurant, and a gold leaf experience. We were transported back of the Edo period of Japan for the day. Thank, you, Shoten! That said, Kanazawa is worth much more time than one day.
