I’ve lived in Osaka for 45 years
I speak Japanese
I am a bartender/chef
Hi, I’m Mayura, an Osaka local with a passion for this city’s fun, friendly, and energetic vibe! I love Osaka’s lively spirit, with events happening almost every weekend that bring locals and visitors together. The seasonal celebrations are a favorite of mine, along with Osaka’s casual and delicious food scene—it’s easy to dive into, whether you’re eating or even trying to cook it yourself! I know the ins and outs of neighborhoods like Amemura, Namba, and Shinsekai, where the energy never stops, as well as cozy spots in Tenma and the markets around town. One of my favorite things is exploring hidden bars, restaurants, and unique shops on my bike, which is the best way to take in everything Osaka has to offer. With my background as a bartender and chef, I’d love to share recommendations on the best spots for food and drinks, whether you’re looking for a lively night out or a relaxed afternoon snack in the park. Let’s discover the real Osaka together!
Excellent luncheon at a local Tempura restaurant.

What a great day with my private tour guide! It was like having a best friend to show you all the best spots- even met a few more friends along the way. I was looking for cooking and housewares and Mayura showed me some great places, as well as some good spots for snacks and even had a Sakura latte. Highly recommend the personalized walking experience.

Our guide mayu was lovely, she helped us so much and took us exactly where we wanted, including a local ramen place we never would have found on our own. One of our best days in Japan!

Mayu was a brilliant guide, we were half an hour late due to the train but she did not knock that off our time, in fact she was prepared to do longer to make sure we saw all we needed. She took us exactly where we asked and when I said I was looking for Pokemon cards for my son she found a shop and translated for me. She took us to a lovely little ramen place we never would have done on our own too. One of our best days in Japan, thank you Mayu!
