Hello, my name is Zarina, and I study environmental science in Sapporo. I like this city, as it is full of modern life, but surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains. I like everything about nature and culture — traditional japanese theater, hiking, spending time in the zoo with my friends’ kids and search for traces of past life on river stones. I am a «vintage shopaholic», so I know almost all major flea markets in the city — on one of them I bought my favorite japanese flute.

Zarina showed us parts of Sapporo you won't easily find in guide books. She has insights on both what someone new to the city can find helpful as well as years of experience living in Sapporo. The tour was adapted to our needs at the time as well as current weather conditions. Would like to do another tour with Zarina to take in some of the sights we missed due to time and weather constraints. Thoroughly enjoyable time with an enthusiastic, intelligent and knowledgeable guide.

Zarina was interested in us and what interested us, which informed where we walked. Zarina gave us the background to the area, it's history and indigenous people, with further ideas about what we may like to see and do in our remaining days here in the city
