Hello, my name is Julio. I am a born and raised Barcelona guy. What I love about Barcelona is the huge diversity that it offers. From amazing medieval neighborhoods and Roman ruins to modernist Gaudí buildings and the contemporary superstructures of El Forum. Barcelona will not leave anyone indifferent. You can enjoy all the buzz of a big city but at the same time enjoy a peaceful walk in one of its hills and mountains, such as Montjuic and Tibidabo. I particularly like more off-the-track neighborhoods such as Sants, where I live, as for me this is the real Barcelona. The neighborhood offers daily pleasures such as food markets, local shops, independent bookshops, restaurants, and cafés. During summer and spring, you can enjoy some of its charming squares filled with locals grabbing a drink and some tapas after work. Not far from Sants, we can also find Poble Sec, one of my favorite districts in the city. Here is a "hipster town", where you can eat vegan burgers, drink wines from all over Spain and enjoy charming streets with plenty of shops and art galleries. Here you can also find one of the typical Barcelona modernist markets, Mercat de Sant Antoni, where locals do their daily shopping and where you can also have some food and drinks directly from the counter. Everyone knows the famous monuments and areas that one can find in tourist guides or youtube videos, however, what I offer is the possibility to enjoy the city from a local point of view, enjoying a truly European way of life. I can also show you areas that have all the essence of the city but without having to fight against all the tourists from the most renowned areas of Barcelona.
