Hello there! I'm Masayo, your friendly local host in Hiroshima. What I love most about Hiroshima are its two world heritages, making it the most beautiful and peaceful place to live. The beautiful rivers, sea, mountains, and, of course, the incredible food are just some of the reasons I adore this city. When I'm not welcoming guests like you, you can find me savoring delicious Okonomiyaki and seafood, taking leisurely walks along the riverside, and indulging in my love for fishing. I also know Downtown Hiroshima and its neighborhoods like the back of my hand, so I can show you all the hidden gems. We spent half a day with Masa as our personal guide to Miyajima Island. As it was our first time to Hiroshima and Miyajima, we found it incredibly helpful and informative to have Masa explain the history of the places we visited. Miyajima Island was simply beautiful with its temples and Itsukushima Shrine. We also took lots of pictures of the friendly deer there. The Floating Torii Gate was not to be missed. I guess when choosing a guide, the question I ask is could I have done this tour by myself. Yes I could….but I would not have learnt about the heart and soul of the place. Masa’s detailed explanation really made the day one of our “highlights” of our 2 week trip to Japan. Thank you Masa! Highly recommend.
