Our guide was Lucy, it turned out that she is actually a New Yorker who has been studying in Kyoto since 18 months. Actually it turned out be great - not only as the communication was easy - but also she were able to provide us an unique perspective. She tailor made the tour as we requested, even during the day we were able to adjust and modify (we went mostly to places which had less tourist). Lucy showed up around Gion in Kyoto at a leisurely pace allowing us time to stop in random shops . She has good knowledge of the area and her sushi recommendation was excellent
