Bangkok, and Thailand as a whole, has some of the best night markets in the world. Today I’ll be sharing my top five night markets in Bangkok, and why you NEED to check these off your bucket list!
1. Jodd Fairs Rama 9 Night Market
Jodd Fairs has quickly grown in popularity after its opening in late 2020. You will find aisles of delicious Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and American street foods to sample from here. This market boasts my favorite mango smoothies, salted egg yolk pastries, and kao soi (Northern Thai curry.) Aside from food, you can find a plethora of stalls here to shop for clothing, accessories, and souvenirs. This market even includes a barber shop and multiple nail salons! You can reach this night market by taking the MRT blue line to Rama 9 station.
2. One Ratchada Night Market
One Ratchada is located a 20-minute walk from Jodd Fairs, so you can easily hit both of these in one night. If the bustling aisles of Jodd Fairs have you feeling a bit overwhelmed, come to One Ratchada for a much quieter vibe. This market is known for its fresh seafood, so make sure you sample it when you arrive! There is also an Indian restaurant here that I highly recommend- their paneer tikka masala is to die for. You can shop for clothing, accessories, and souvenirs here at great prices! You can reach this night market by taking the MRT Blue line to the Thailand Cultural Center station.
3. Train Night Market DanNeramit
This is Bangkok’s newest night market, built on the site of an old amusement park. Although the amusement rides are long gone, you’ll still find a fairytale-esque castle at the entrance of Train Night Market DanNeramit. This night market is packed full of cute and quirky photo spots, so it’s definitely a must-visit for Instagrammers. Feast until your heart's content at the many street food stalls, before browsing the aisles of clothing, shoes, accessories, and souvenirs. You can reach this night market by taking the BTS Skytrain to Ha Yaek Lad Phrao station.
4. Srinagarindra Train Night Market
If you visit a night market while you’re in Bangkok, choose this one! Although this is a bit of a trek outside the main city center, it is well worth it. This market is packed full of vintage clothing and shoe stalls, nail salons, 90s toys, and so many more cool finds! This is the biggest night market I’ve ever visited, and the food and drink options are truly endless. This market is a very local experience, with affordable local prices to match. You can reach this night market by taking the MRT yellow line to Suan Luang Rama 9 station.
5. ChangChui Creative Park
Welcome to the coolest night market you’ll ever visit- complete with an abandoned airplane in the center! If you are into thrifting and vintage clothing, this is the place to be. Photographers will also love this place with its countless photo opportunities. This is a great place to listen to live music and have a cold drink while admiring the surrounding artsy vibes. This market is a bit far from public transportation, so I suggest taking a Grab or taxi from central Bangkok to reach it.
Pull out your phone, open your Google Maps, and make sure to bookmark these markets. I can guarantee that no matter which one you visit, you’ll have a night in Bangkok to remember for years to come.
