April

In April the Bologna Children’s Book Fair is on, it’s one of the world’s leading events about the children's publishing industry that takes place at BolognaFiere (Bologna's trading center). Publishers, illustrators, graphic designers, literary agents, authors, translators, and more meet in Bologna to show their works and find business opportunities across six halls.

You don't need to have kids to enjoy the book fair, in fact, it’s not an activity for kids, it’s a cultural book show with an international business forum. But if you’re not in the business it's even better because you can spend hours browsing books of hidden publishers, cherishing exotic illustrations or just wandering around the halls.

If you’re looking for something to do with the whole family then explore the Sala Borsa Library or the other children's libraries where you can find exhibitions and events dedicated to people of all ages.

May

May

If you’re planning to visit in May then be sure not to miss one of the biggest events of the year. The Di Verde in Verde takes place over one weekend each year. In 2022 Diverdeinverde is going to open the gates and doors of more than 50 private and secret gardens from the afternoon of Friday, 20 May until the evening of Sunday, 22 May 2022.

Whether you’re an avid gardener or just simply want to take time to smell the flowers, this is one of the best things to do in spring in Bologna. This event offers visitors the chance to explore the hidden gems in the city center and the parks in the foothills and surrounding plains.
