I’ve lived in Bologna for 20 years
I speak English, Italian
I am a Graphic Designer / Musician
Hello, I’m Claudio! I moved to Bologna in 2003 to study sociology, since then I fell in love with this beautiful city so I decided to live here. I am a musician and graphic/web designer. Over the years, I played with different bands in many clubs in the city, and I worked in the graphic/web field in various communication agencies and publishing houses. Music has always been my first passion: currently, I'm attending the Conservatory to get my degree in jazz bass. What I appreciate most about Bologna is its cultural vivacity; in fact, despite being quite a small city, it really offers a lot to its inhabitants and to those who come to visit: music and film festivals, exhibitions and museums, trade fairs, live music venues, libraries and obviously many restaurants and trattorias. In addition to the city center, the neighborhood where I hang out the most is Bolognina since I live here with my girlfriend and our 4-year-old daughter.
Our tour of Bologna with Claudio was outstanding, thanks to his knowledge, kindness and enthusiasm. He walked us through the city’s rich history, pointing out landmarks and telling us stories. From the ancient towers, border walls, water canals, Piazza Maggiore and the cool porticoes, he shared fascinating details that gave us a deeper appreciation for Bologna’s culture, history and architecture. His passion for the city was evident, and he went above and beyond to answer all our questions. In fact although our tour was only supposed to be 3 hours, he stayed with us for an extra 30 minutes. Since it is a city walking tour, afterwards save time in your trip to go inside some of the buildings Claudio points out. If you’re visiting Bologna, and want an efficient and captivating way to learn about the city, I highly recommend touring it with Claudio.

Claudio was a very lucky pick for my introductory tour of Bologna. I truly could not be more pleased with our connection as he led me around Bologna for my first time, and hopefully not my last. Claudio is that terrific mix of youthful energy, extensive knowledge of this city's culture and history, patience, enthusiasm for his role to help someone become familiar with the streets and important (and less important) places to view, and sensitivity to the visitor's preferences. Kind and compassionate, he was happy to suggest activities for me after our tour came to a conclusion. I would absolutely recommend Claudio to anyone interested in learning about Bologna!
