A slice of life in Naples

From the cobblestone streets that are home to the vibrant atmosphere created by the buzzing of the vespas, scents of freshly baked pastries, and noise of locals from the windows above, up to the serenity that follows along the coast! The city that is known as the soul of Italy, is full of history, culture, art, and of course culinary charms. 

The Streets

Nicknamed Spaccanapoli which translates to ‘splinter’ is a series of streets that cut through the old town and are home to the local life of Naples. Roaming around you can immerse yourself in daily life and it is the perfect place to capture slice-of-life activities. From local shops selling handcrafted goods to coffee bars full of locals catching up over an espresso, it's the perfect place to get lost whilst wandering around these beautiful streets!

The Sea

Southwest of the city is the Tyrrhenian Sea at the Bay of Naples. Known for its scenic beauty, which is surrounded by the volcanic hills around, this main port is one of the largest in Italy and is essential for daily life. From the wooden fisherman boats that return each morning to the large cruises that bring visitors from all around, it really is a spectacle to see. If you're lucky enough you can even catch some of the wildlife that will swim past whether it be the schools of grouper fish or dolphins swimming in the distance, make sure to have your camera ready to capture at any moment!

The Food

Italy is famous for its cuisine, from fresh gelato to hand-rolled pasta, however, Napoli is home to one of the world's most loved dishes, the pizza! Neapolitan pizza is prepared with simple and fresh ingredients - a basic dough, raw tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, green basil, and olive oil, and at most pizzerias, you’ll find very limiting options of the marinara and margarita. I recommend stripping it back with no fancy toppings and allowing the simplicity of the flavors to shine!!

The Art

Naples is home to some of the most beautiful architecture in the region, from Basilicas that hide around each corner to the Ovo Castle which sits on a hill high above the sea. With so many unique and distinct styles throughout, there is so much to see and admire whilst strolling around. These iconic marvels make the perfect opportunity to capture and create memories to bring home with you!
