Hello, my name is Akane. I'm originally from Osaka, and I've also lived abroad for 22 years. I live in a Machiya (traditional Kyoto-style house) in a quiet part of Kyoto. My family owns a Seaweed wholesale company in Osaka, so they are very adventurous when it comes to food. When I was growing up they fed me all sorts of things, so now I'm a true food-passionate. I also love art, museums, visiting historical places such as temples and shrines, cooking, dining out, going to flea-markets, movies, reading and spending some down time with my family.
Akane was so great and accommodating of my interests. She is very knowledgeable about the city and temples. I loved the tour. Thank you!

Akane took us to some lovely places that I probably would not have known to go on my own. Also she was very flexible with the changes in our schedule due our previous tour going over its allotted time and I really appreciated that!

I'm very pleased that I had Akane as my host in Izakaya Experience. She is a very lovely lady and nice to talk with. Se went to two very local izakayas and one extremly nice cafe. She also showed me some nice shops and gave some useful advice. Thank you Akane, I really enjoyed myself. Riitta
